西伯利亞虎（學名：Panthera tigris ssp。altaica）：又稱東北虎，是虎的亞種之一。是現存體重最大的肉食性貓科動物，其中雄性體長可達3米左右，尾長約1米，成年雄性平均為250千克，也有達到350千克左右。野生西伯利亞虎體色夏毛棕黃色，冬毛淡黃色。背部和體側具有多條橫列黑色窄條紋，通常2條靠近呈柳葉狀。頭大而圓，前額上的數條黑色橫紋，中間常被串通，極似“王”字，故有“叢林之王”之美稱。

棲居於森林、灌木和野草叢生的地帶。獨居，無定居，具領域行為，活動範圍可達100平方公里以上。夜行性，感官敏銳，性兇猛，行動迅捷，善游泳，不會爬樹，很少襲擊人類。東北虎主要捕食鹿、羊、野豬等大中型哺乳動物，也食小型哺乳動物和鳥。捕食方式為偷襲。孕期為103-105天，一胎生2-4仔，2-3年生產一次，野生壽命15至17年，最高為20年，人工飼養情況下壽命為20-25年。

分佈於亞洲東北部，即俄羅斯西伯利亞地區、朝鮮和中國東北地區。由於棲息地被破壞與偷獵，至2015年初統計，世界上僅存野生西伯利亞虎僅500頭之內。
