就是與你論文研究內容有衝突的審稿人，可以包括你知道的都在做同一個課題，存在發表競爭的潛在對手，包括可能影響論文作者得諾貝爾獎；也可以包括你的不共戴天的仇人。舉例說，如果你感覺你的論文到這位審稿人手裡不管怎樣都會被拒稿，你就把該研究者列入“Conflict of interest”。
