gum作為樹膠、樹脂、口香糖、橡膠是不可數名詞。

作為膠樹、高統橡皮膠鞋、齒齦、牙床是可數名詞。

candy糖果是不可數 ， 作為糖果的種類是可數。但在仁愛英語八年級教材中有一年是many candies，在第二年又改為much candy。
