親，你好。甲狀腺（拉丁語：Glandula thyr（e）oidea；英語：Thyroid）是脊椎動物非常重要的腺體，屬於內分泌器官。在哺乳動物它位於頸部甲狀軟骨下方，氣管兩旁。人類的甲狀腺形似蝴蝶，猶如盾甲，故以此命名。甲狀腺控制使用能量的速度、製造蛋白質、調節身體對其他荷爾蒙的敏感性。甲狀腺依靠製造甲狀腺素來調整這些反應，有triiodothyronine （T3）和thyroxine，也可稱為tetraiodothyronine （T4）。這兩者調控代謝、生長速率還有調解其他的身體系統。T3和T4由碘和酪胺酸合成。甲狀腺也生產降鈣素（Calcitonin），調節體內鈣的平衡。
