be動詞既是系動詞又是助動詞。作為助動詞的時候是沒有詞義的，表示時態和語態

作為系動詞的時候有意思，可以翻譯為“是”“在”，表明主語的性質或特徵

無論是做系動詞還是助動詞都不能直接做謂語，要和實義動詞一起做謂語

be動詞的意思

be動詞意思和用法很多，一般的意思是是，此種用法，有多種變化形式，is，am，are，was，were，being，been，to be。另外，be動詞還有成為的意思。

be動詞的用法

現在時 I am， you are， he is， we are， you are， they are （縮略式 I‘m， you’re， he‘s， we’re， you‘re， they’re）， （否定縮略式 I‘m not， isn’t， aren‘t），

過去時 I was， you were， he was， we were， you were， they were （過去時否定縮略式 wasn’t， weren‘t）， 過去分詞 been， 現在分詞 being

英語的“be”是個特殊動詞；有些語言，如馬來文等，並沒有“be”這樣的動詞。 “

“動詞簡體形”，就是動詞的原形（即動詞終止形）或用“動詞連用形+た”構成的形態來結句，如用：“書く、書いた / 起きる、起きた/ 勉強する、 勉強した / 來る、來た” 等等結句。作為動詞否定形用“ない”結句也是屬於動詞的簡體形，如：書かない、書かなかった / 食べない、食べなかった。等。

“動詞小句”， 是指用動詞簡體形（即動詞連體形）來修飾名詞時的形態（即動詞作定語修飾用，亦即“定語句的修飾部分”），如：これは日本で買った電子辭書です。（其中“日本で買った”就是動詞小句）/ 私はいつも 人民広場へ行く地下鉄にのります。“意為：我一直乘去人民廣場的地鐵”（其中“いつも 人民広場へ行く”就是動詞小句）
