2）have to的否定形式是don’t have to，相當於needn’t。如：

They don’t have to buy a computer at present。

他們目前沒有必要買電腦。

should，must，need，can都是情態動詞，後面都只能跟動詞原形，分別解釋為應該，必須，需要，可以。

didn‘t need to do 表示發現不必要做，最終也沒有做。

need的用法

1。當「名詞」用（可數名詞）

ex： there is no need for anxiety。【不必焦慮。】

ex： my needs are few。 【我的需要很少。】

2。當「一般動詞」用

（1）。人 + need + to + 原v（人必須做to + 原v之事）【need to = have to】

ex： he needs to study hard。 = he has to study hard。

（2）。物 + need + v-ing（物必須被v）【含有被動意思】

ex： the car needs washing。

3。當「助動詞」用（同can，主詞為第三人稱單數時，亦不需加s，且只用於否定句及疑問句中）

（1）。do you need to … = need you …

（2）。we don’t need to …。 = we needn‘t …。

（3）。he doesn’t need to …， does he = he needn‘t …， need he

ex： do you need to get up so early = need you get up so early

ex： they don’t need to send the letter after all。 = they needn‘t send the letter after all。
