no more=not。。。any more

no longer=not。。。any longer

意思上是一樣的，但在句中的位置不盡相同：

舉例說明：

he is no longer a student。 他不再是學生了。

he is not a student any longer。

此用法還有no more 和 not any more

第二 no more和no longer的區別

1。 no longer中的longer是副詞long的比較級，long有after a certain point of time（在某一時刻以後）之意，著重表示時間的不再延續，意為“如今不再”。no longer等於not。。。 any longer。

2。 no more中的more是many / much的比較級，more有again之意，著重表示數量或程度的減少，意為“再也沒有更多（大）的數量（程度）”。no more等於not。。。 any more。

注意：no longer修飾延續性動詞，如wait， live， work等，表示動作不再延續；no more修飾非延續性動詞，如come， go ， make （the same mistake）等，表示動作不再次發生。

舉例說明：

don’t wait any longer。 別再等了。

she could no longer find a way to get into the valley。 她再也找不到進山谷的路了。

we couldn‘t stand it any more。 我們不能再忍受了。

time or opportunity lost will return no more。 機不可失，時不再來。
