前者是在一個物體的前面，而後者是在一個物體的前部。

in front of classroom（在教室這個建築的前面（教室的外面））

in the front of classroom（在這個教室的前面（裡面））

（1） in front of 表示“在……的前面”（有一定距離的前面，也可以理解在物體範圍外的前面），其反義詞是behind，表示“在……的後面”。例如：

There is a river in front of the house。 =There is a house behind the river。

（2） 二者的區別：

in the front of與in front of具有不同的含義。前者表示在某一範圍之內的前部，後者表示在某一範圍之外的前面。例如：

There is a big desk in the front of the classroom。 在教室的前部有一張大桌子。
