我試著把歌詞（前兩段）翻成中文，如下：

這是一首古老的美國民歌的標題，英文原名叫做Will The Circle Be Unbroken，我也不知道翻的對不對。

這首歌的原作者名叫Ada R。 Habershon，1861年出生於英國，是個虔誠的基督徒。後來她去美國訪問，受人囑託寫下了很多聖歌，Will The Circle Be Unbroken就是其中的一首。她死於1918年。

後來，就像很多那個時候的教堂歌曲一樣，這首歌流落民間，被專程去鄉下采集民歌的A。P。Carter聽到。這個Carter是個類似王洛賓的角色，他和妻子Sara，以及Sara的表妹Maybelle一起組成了一支小樂隊，取名Carter Family（卡特家族樂隊）。這支樂隊被Victor Talking Machine唱片公司的星探Ralph Peer相中，該公司為他們出版了一大批唱片，轟動美國南方，被稱為美國鄉村音樂的鼻祖，併成為美國鄉村音樂名人堂的第一支入選樂隊。
