likely、probable和possible的區別：

likely、probable和possible都表示“可能的”，但likely和probable所表示的“可能性”的程度比“possible”大，語氣比possible強。likely介於probable和possible之間。

likely可用於以人或物作主語的句子，也可使用It is likely that…的句型，但possible和probable一般只用於It is possible/probable that…句型。例如：

2。 possible

表示客觀上潛在的可能性，也許實際發生的可能性並不大。possible一般不用表示人的詞作主語，但若真的要用表示人的詞作主語，possible後接不定式，這個不定式動作的邏輯賓語應是句子的主語，但此時的possible已經轉意為“容易的”。

常用結構有：

It is possible（for sb）to do sth。

It is possible that從句

It is possible for us to get from Beijing to Tianjin in less than an hour。   我們有可能用不到1小時的時間就可從北京到達天津。

possible ／probable／likely

三者均表示可能性，但用法上有所區別。

1）possible指客觀上有可能性，但往往含有希望很小的意思。probable比pos-sible可能性大，表示“很可能”，指有實際依據或邏輯上合情合理。likely是從外表跡象進行判斷，有可能發生的事。如：

it is possible，though notprobable，that he will cometomorrow．他明天可能來，但也不一定準來。

it isn’t likely torain．天不像要下雨。

2）possible不能用人作主語，常用it ispossible to do sth．；it is possible for sb．to do sth．；it ispossible that．．．等結構。如：
